As an 18-year-old, he spent a year stationed in Germany on a Short Service Limited Commission with the Army. He then went onto University (Queen’s Belfast, to read Economics), then Procter & Gamble, where he was a Brand Management Trainee and gained expertise in Brand Management. That training helped him create his own brand in the Technology Industry with Digiterre. Digiterre has itself shown immense staying power. At almost twenty years old, the business has outlived the vast majority of those in Britain. It specialises in “small teams of high-performing people”. Digiterre doesn’t compete with multinationals, not just because it can’t— “we don’t have a hundred thousand people”—but because it won’t. “We choose problems that yield not to bodies, but to intelligence.” Ian loves the outdoors whether kite- surfing, skiing, cycling or swimming. He also enjoys Scottish ice-climbing, and has attempted Everest. He is a family man with 3 Children who enjoys nothing more than spending time with them.
