Richard has a background in product design and manufacturing and has man- aged a series of successful businesses over many years using his skills to nurture and grow companies to deliver success. Starting his career as an apprentice toolmaker he went on to achieve a degree in Product Design and is a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Manager. In 2016 he was recognised as one of the 70 most influential people in the UK plastics industry by the readers of PRW, trade maga- zine for the UK polymer industry. He was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in 2017 and is a Liveryman with the Worshipful Company of Horners, an ancient guild and livery company, and a modern City Institution. When Richard took over the helm at G&A Technologies, prior to the ac- quisition by RJG, the business was not growing or developing. Richard is the chair of judges for Design Innovations in Plastic, the long- est running student plastics design award in Europe and also provides his expertise in judging other industry awards. Skills and training are important to Richard and he is proud to be lead- ing a team that is making a difference in the skills landscape of the polymers industry.
